Style Notes:
Y‘all, it’s officially FALL and I’m looking forward to suiting up for the cooler Florida weather. I love a good power suit, and I’m ready to pull out a few of my faves from last season! I haven’t done A LOT of fall shopping, but I did happen to grab this asymmetrical suit a while back. I haven’t worn it to work yet but I will as soon as it cools off a bit. In the mean time and in-between time, I’ll be taking FULL advantage of basking in the sunlight, whilst being laid out like a two-dollar bill, on the gulf coast, enjoying somebody’s beach/cabana situation, Lol!
I originally planned to wear this wide-leg pants suit with my white pumps but in the midst of me packing my bags for the our #BaeNight Getaway, I messed around and left the pumps at the airbnb with the kids so I had to figure something out on the fly… as I didn’t realize I’d left the shoes all the way in Queens until just minutes before my shoot with Marta, But I digress.
Luckily I’d packed my Yeezy Boost Sneaks and these shoes came in CLUTCH. I love the way this look turned out. Some of the best looks stem from mistakes turned masterpiece…
Here are 3 easy to incorporate tips for styling your wide-leg pants suit with ease:
White sneakers (period): They are the holy grail of ALL sneakers… Sis, if you don’t own a fresh pair of white kicks, what are you doing? Get to it, go get you some PRONTO. This season classics like Air Force Ones, Stan Smiths, New Balances, Airmax and etc…are making a comeback (as if they ever left, right?) and if you’re feeling really good you can cop a pair of high fashion sneakers from Louis Vuitton, Gucci or Stella Mccartney. You don’t have to splurge on super expensive sneakers, as long as the kicks are white, and sleek you can achieve the look. Zara may have some really cute options as well so be sure to check their site/store.
Crop top or fitted top: Since the pants are so wide, I opted for a crop top vice a button-down blouse, as I thought it would be a great way to accentuate my curves. Humph… the girls were looking right in this white tank and the oversized jacket helped me maintain a polished, sophisticated look while bringing in just a tad bit of ” Hey Sexy Lady” * Insert Shaggy Voice Lol!
Accessorize: Your look is NEVER complete until you’ve added your accessories. I can’t stress this point enough! The accessories really make the outfit “Pop, Lock and Drop it, you understand me? Thats why I couldn’t resist this necklace. I’m a fan of body necklaces and this one from Forever 21 was a winner. It was only $6 which was perfect for my needs. I also wore these asymmetrical shell earrings from Zara, and my Dior brooch (which you really can’t see in these pictures).
LifeStyle Notes:
In short, life has been good to me. God has been good to me. Been managing competing priorities and that’s impacted the time I have to spend here on the blog with you all. I have some cool stuff to share with in the coming days though as I’ve been having some FUN.
I can’t wait to chat about my girls trip and my weekend getaway with My Mr. “All-In-One”(for his Bday weekend, it was soooo GOOD). Aside from that, I’ve been being a Mom of course and as of late, it’s been kinda challenging. So thankful that I’ve got hubs to share in these responsibilities as it can get to be so exhausting at times… especially when the kids get a lil older in age.
You start to prepare them for real life responsibilities such as establishing good credit, and paying bills, and signing rental agreements, being in relationships, and making wise and informed life decisions and etc… and chile, it’s HARD WORK, but I know beyond a shadow of doubt that it’s WORTHWHILE WORK and so I’m honored to have the privilege to be both a mom and a teacher of many principles and life lessons.
Til we chat again Darlings….remember to give yourself space and grace!
We may not be able to prepare the future for our kids, but we CAN prepare our kids for the Future
